Two years ago, Mark Pupeza of Paper Depot (Minneapolis, MN) contacted Concerto Designs for a new website. His existing website consisted entirely of jpgs and was invisible to search engines. Not good for marketing, business or client outreach. Working closely with Mark, we mapped out a two stage development process that began with a custom Joomla website.
Phase one: we researched keywords and page ranking strategies. With that information in hand, we developed new and expanded content for the entire site.
Next a redesign that put Mark’s best business features front and center. User friendly navigation highlights Paper Depot’s products, classes, customer perks, and more. A rotating image gallery delivers compelling visuals. Accordion panels, a facebook link, coupon modules, and much more create a dynamic, interactive website.
Within 6 weeks of launching their new website, they ranked on Google pages 1 and 2 for major keyword strings. With their newly acquired page rank, Paper Depot saw a dramatic increase in customers from the Twin Cities (Minneapolis and St. Paul, MN area) who found Paper Depot through their new website. When Paper Depot developed a new marketing strategy for their scrapbooking papers, their website was their main vehicle. Scrapbooking sales have responded robustly.

There is tremendous opportunity for web design and development in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis - St. Paul) - and tremendous competition as well. The Twin Cities are amajor hub for web design firms of all types and sizes, from the very large (Digital River) to medium (August Ash) to small (well - Concerto Designs, for one!), from enterprise solutions to heavy Flash development (e.g. Sierra Bravo) and everything in between.
Concerto Designs has thrived in this environment because we offer a focused, efficient approach to providing a unique product model.
Let's start with our product: although we have experience building web sites in a wide range of platforms, ( Drupal, Wordpress, Magento, X-Cart, DNN, and others), we focus above all on providing complete, turnkey solutions using our optimized configurations of the Joomla CMS platform. By turnkey solutions, we mean everything necessary for a well-functioning, optimized, beautifully designed, hand-coded and content-rich web site. We stress content because we know that content is the most valuable - and challenging - asset in developing an effective digital presence.
We also offer flexible development plans that streamline production and costs.
For some businesses, this means a website that features daily specials, product updates, or e-commerce, for others it might involve downloadable brochures, email campaigns with newsletters, blogs, bulletin boards to handle FAQs, or other dynamic content options. However you put your website to work, Joomla CMS allows you complete flexibility and control so that your website and your business grow together. By providing the web solutions that make the most sense for your company, we keep your costs down and your marketing focused. And with Joomla, you can always add new components later.
"Alan Smith and his company, Concerto Designs, built a Joomla website for my company, Paper Depot, Inc. Alan said what he would do and did what he said. It is a pleasure to work with Alan. The site performs beautifully and allows me complete access to the content. With only the most basic of computer skills I am able to manipulate the content of my site on my own. I can post weekly specials in less than five minutes. Our search engine rankings are always near the top and we see people in our store everyday looking for specials from our website."
- Mark Pupeza, President/Owner of The Paper Depot, Minneapolis MN
Alan not only promised me that our website would bring in new clients but he has exceeded all my expectations. We average 25 new clients each month. Even during the slow month of July, we consistently get contact from clients that have found us on the internet. Alan is always willing to answer any questions I have. He has even helped me set up a Facebook account. I cannot imagine doing business with anyone else. His customer service is worth every dime I have spent.
